Lots of parents dread bedtime. I love it. And try not to miss it. And very rarely do. Bedtime for us is dance parties, pillow forts, bath tub paint, singing songs, reading books, snuggling and giggling. Some days we are tired and grumpy and it is not magic. But those days are not too common. This week we had lots of bedtime fun.
Janaury 11: Sunday is soccers for us now. Liam plays soccer all in Italian wish some school friends. It is really sweet.
While Liam is playing on the field, Brenna plays on the playground. She's getting more brave with the big kid equipment.
Soccer and the playground are in Glen Canyon and sometimes that means a hike back to the car. Luckily, there are fun things along the way.
And more bedtime antics.
January 12: We may have had a bit too much screen time this day. Some days are just cold and long and exhausting and ...
January 13: Sharing treats
And looking a bit of a mess.
Singing Italian songs in full princess gear.
Drawing on the chalk wall. And even sharing space.
Liam went for more of an artistic touch.
Princess on the loose.
Bedtime dog.
January 15: The kids were playing around with video chatting on our phones to each other in the house. Pretty exciting stuff.
Sometimes it is hard to follow their games - Liam drilling Brenna's back as they turned in a circle.
Fun with bath tub paint.
Painting your belly button, it turns out, is really fun.
More bedtime fun.
January 16: More screen time. They don't get a lot, but when they get it they are easier to photograph! Brenna decided last Saturday she was ready to potty train and that was that.
A little hallway tball.
Brenna needed a bit more help, but she got to play too.
January 17: Puppets at the Randall Museum.
A 2 and 4 year old putting on a puppet show is pretty hilarious. Even without a story.
We had a hard time putting the puppets away and moving on.
Luckily, there were snakes to go talk to.
And downstairs they have a train to play on. Brenna was not as excited about it, but Liam did not want to leave.
